I am currently residing in New Jersey and teach Art education at Cresskill Public Schools in Cresskill, NJ. I truly enjoy my job as an Art educator and most of my days walk out of work with a huge grin on my face. I love sharing my passsion for art with my students and seeing them grow as artists and individuals.
I began my education specializing in Illustration and graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth with a BFA in Illustration in 2002. Before I went back for my teacher certification, I began working for a publishing company, color correcting fine art giclee prints. After a few years of working in this industry, I decided to persue a career in education as well, and became certified in 2006. During my time away from home, I lived and traveled all over New England, exploring the beautiful areas of Cape Cod, Newport, Providence, and Boston. From this experience, my family has learned to pencil in my address in their address book...
I moved home the summer of 2007, and began my job at Cresskill Public Schools that September. I have been teaching in Cresskill for the past three years, and feel as though I am ready to build upon my education and career as an artist as well. I am currently applying to graduate school to continue my education in Illustration. I feel that this will be both beneficial to my students and my career as an Illustrator.
One of my goals in life is to become a succesful Illustrator. I have been Illustrating since I was a little girl, and even find myself teaching as an Illustrator. My lessons always start off with..."Imagine you are..." or "Pretend that you..." I am always telling stories, and coming up with narratives for the work I give my students, just like the work that I create as an Illustrator. The Illustration field is a difficult field to conquer and I will never give up. I am ready to take on this challenge, and hope to one day fulfill my dreams and goals of my career in the Illustration field.
